The 4th Agriculture and Forestry Council, a major event shaping the future of agricultural and food policies in Türkiye, was held in Ankara from April 28 to 30, 2025, bringing together a broad range of stakeholders.
Organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Council brought together representatives from public institutions, academia, the private sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and producer associations. The outcomes of discussions conducted by the working groups were shared with the public throughout the Council.
Operating under 17 thematic areas, the working groups addressed numerous critical issues, ranging from crop and livestock production to rural development, agricultural marketing, water management, food security, and climate change.
As MEYED, we contributed our expertise in the agro-industrial sector and shared industry-specific recommendations through our participation in working groups focusing on key topics such as “Agro-Industry, Inventory Management and Logistics,” “Food Security, Food Safety and Combating Food Waste,” and “Agricultural Marketing and Financing.”
We are proud to have shared concrete recommendations regarding the role of the food industry in economic development and to have participated in this inclusive dialogue process, driven by a shared commitment to creating collective value.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and all stakeholders who contributed to the organization of the Council. We look forward to the announcement of the Council’s resolutions on May 14, Farmers’ Day, and hope that these decisions will bring lasting benefits to our country.
