Fruit Juice Industry: A Strong Pillar of the Agro-Industrial Sector
As one of Türkiye’s most established and strategically important agro-industries, the fruit juice industry stands out not only for its economic contributions but also for its significant social and environmental impact throughout the entire value chain, from production to consumption.
In an extensive interview with MEYED, published in the April 2025 issue of Gıda Teknolojisi Magazine (Food Technology Magazine), the industry’s widespread production infrastructure across Türkiye and its contribution to sustainable development were highlighted. Today, approximately 10% of Türkiye’s annual fruit production is processed in 45 factories across 18 provinces. This infrastructure plays a crucial role in supporting rural development and transforming farmers’ efforts into economic value.
With double-digit annual export growth and an average foreign trade surplus of 95%, Türkiye continues to strengthen its global competitiveness in fruit juice exports. Advanced production facilities, a skilled workforce, and sustainable supply chains contribute to an integrated value chain that places farmers, producers, and consumers at its core.
The interview also emphasizes that, thanks to Türkiye’s rich diversity of fruit varieties, agricultural products can be processed and transformed into value-added products, generating 4 to 7 times greater economic value.
